Wachovia Championship Powered with Ultra-Low Emission Turbines

The 2008 Wachovia Championship was clean and green on and off the fairways. The Championship, held April 29 - May 4 in Charlotte, used ultra-low emission, environmentally friendly Capstone MicroTurbines(R) to supply electricity for air-conditioning, lights, sound systems and catering operations at the hospitality tent near the practice range at Quail Hollow Club.

The turbines, manufactured by Capstone Turbine Corporation in California, are green energy solutions that reduce the amount of fuel consumed compared with traditional energy solutions, smog-forming NOx, and greenhouse gas emissions associated with global climate change.
