The bus runs on batteries and a turbine powered generator, unlike other MTA hybrids, which use diesel engines...."The emissions will be far better, I mean it meets the EPA certification, just as our buses do, but the projection is that it will exceed that by even more. The airport is buying two hybrid-powered buses, which are more fuel-efficient than standard ones, for $ 880,000.
